It being a twist on your theme, the film that I particularly like is _The Lavender Hill Mob_ (1951); there was also an American remake of the script that included Tom Hanks (but I cannot now recall the title).
ReplyDeleteThe only gangster film with Tom Hanks that I know of is Road to Perdition. Is that what you're thinking of?

DeleteI think I saw that film on TV but didn't watch the whole thing.
DeleteHow do you feel about Casino or Once Upon a Time in America?
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen Once Upon a Time in America. In fact I tried the other day but stopped midway. Wasn't in the right mood for it, perhaps.
DeleteCasino is good, but not 1 of Marty's best. It doesn't have the "powers" of Goodfellas or Mean Streets.
