Biting the hand that feeds

Jackie Chan calls the US the most corrupt country in the world.

1/ After making a name in the US, succeeding, turning into an international star and a cultural icon and being honoured with awards and a star on the Walk of Fame, he now says "When you talk about corruption - the whole world, is there corruption in the United States? The most corrupt in the world! Of course! Where did the great breakdown come from? The world, the United States started it." That's what people call 'biting the hand that feeds'.
The US is not his home country, he doesn't have to stick to it if indeed very disgusted with its system. Why not come back home or go elsewhere to make films? No, he continues making films in the US, earning money and trying to preserve his fading name, 2 films this year, 2 next year and another one in 2016.

2/ The statement above can, to an extent, be acceptable because saying the US's corruption is the cause of the crisis is his opinion and I respect it, however stupid and extreme it is. He's not the 1st one, or the only one, to have such thoughts, even Americans are very critical and negative towards their own government and society- which is fine, marking the difference between the US and China. But he also says "I said now that China has become strong, everyone is making an issue of China. If our own countrymen don't support our country, who will support our country? We know our country has many problems. We [can] talk about it when the door is closed. To outsiders, [we should say] 'our country is the best."
Shallow, idiotic, brainwashed. It's this statement that makes the other one make no sense and have no value.
And of course, it's not the 1st time he has said any such thing. Some other examples can be seen here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jackie_chan#Controversy
(Oh, oh, see what he said about Hong Kong and Taiwan? He's from Hong Kong, just so you know).

3/ This instantly makes me think of 2 persons.
1st is Justin Bieber. He says Americans are evil and calls Canada the best country in the world but still goes to the US to be famous and make money. Of course, I don't mean to take him seriously- who would take seriously a guy who says abortion is bad without exception and rapes happen for a reason, who says he doesn't know much about political parties but "whatever they have in Korea, that's bad"?

Still, what he said came to my mind randomly.
2nd is Psy. He's invited to important events and even to a party with Obama, due to the success of "Gangnam style", a few years after writing a hateful, savage song about killing American soldiers.

He did apologise and express his regret, but did he, and does he, truly change his mind? I think not.

The sad part is, in the end, in a democratic country the hypocrite still continues making money and enjoying life and now and then going somewhere saying some stupid things. But what is there to do? That's how it is in a democracy. There are always such people.
