In the name of truth and freedom

Aware of how silly or even childish this may sound, I must confess, sometimes hearing some naive idealists in democratic countries condemn and criticise their own governments, stressing words like "undemocratic" and "dictatorship" and "lies" and "oppression" and "injustice" and "censorship" and "police state" and the like, I can't help having that ridiculously arrogant thought: What the hell do they really know anyway, having never lived under a truly authoritarian regime and thus not knowing other people in some societies are still fighting for what they have always been taking for granted?
