  2. Di,

    The favorite films?

    A Room with a View
    The Name of the Rose
    Witness for the Prosecution
    12 Angry Men
    Psycho
White Heat (if that's the James Cagney film)
The Treasure of the Sierra Madre

    1. The James Cagney film, yes. I think I accidentally didn't mark it in bold. Fixed now.
A Room with a View is something I've seen several times, and somehow I still don't get. Can't say why. Daniel Day-Lewis is marvellous in it, though.
      Have you seen The Celebration?

    1. You should check it out then. I'd like to hear your thoughts on it. Very good, and it's the 1st film of the Danish film movement Dogme 95.

    2. Di,

      It seems rather depressing.

    3. Oh gosh. Did you read the plot? I forgot to tell you not to read anything about it.

  4. Di,

Yes, it's too late. This is from a comment on the film on Netflix:

"The Celebration was nothing short of brilliant. Conceptually innovative, controversial, and densely atmospheric, this psychologically brutal film presents a cast of passive-aggressive, self-destructive, emotionally repressed family members living their lives in complete self-denial to avoid having to navigate through the shattered psychological debris of their pasts."

    1. Humph. You can still watch it, I think. That ruins a bit, but not everything. Or you can leave it there for 6 months or something, and watch it when you've forgotten this :D
