Another "Anna Karenina" film
Looks rather good.
Lou de Laâge doesn't look like Kitty to me, but Vittoria Puccini as Anna, Santiago Cabrera as Vronsky and Benjamin Sadler as Karenin seem OK. It of course depends on the screenplay, dialogues, acting, chemistry between actors... but for now I feel quite pleased with the trailer and look forward to watching this adaptation. Hopefully it will do Tolstoy some justice, because so far all the versions I've watched- 1935 (Greta Garbo), 1948 (Vivien Leigh), 1967 (Tatiana Samoilova), 1997 (Sophie Marceau) and 2012 (Keira Knightley), do not really capture the essence of the novel.
[Have here the 1977 version (Nicola Pagett) as well, but I haven't had time to watch it].
It may be hard to find this one though, it's only a miniseries.
Here are some previous "Anna Karenina" adaptations:
Which version is your favourite? What do you think about the latest adaptation (2013 miniseries)?
